What We Inspect

You know you need an inspection, but aren’t sure what’s included?

TREC specifies what must be inspected in the Home Inspection Standards of Practice (SoP). The SoP document is written like a piece of legislation (because it is), so we’ve summarized and simplified what’s included. Here are a little more details about each section, how we inspect these systems, and what you can expect to see as part of your inspection report.

Included In Your Inspection

We thoroughly inspect and report on the following:

  • Structural Systems

Foundations, grading & drainage, roof covering material, roof structure and attic.

  • Electrical Systems

Service entrance and panels, branch circuits, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and GFCI/AFCI protection.

  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems

Heating and cooling equipment, ducts, vents and flues.

  • Plumbing

Fixtures and faucets, water supply systems, drain, waste and vent systems, water heater, vents, flues and chimneys, and any sump pumps or fuel storage and distribution systems.
